I talk a lot about your author platform and how important it is. Your author platform is how your author persona shows up in the world and -unsurprisingly- it can impact your sales!

So, if you have spent some time on your author platform, but you know it needs some updating, or if this is your first time really considering this, I have good news: it’s a lot easier than you think.

Figure out something that really works for the kinds of books you write now, and the kind of vibe you want to put out there. Your website, social media, and book covers should match across the board. Author platforms rely on visuals just as much as the content you put out. It’s important to stay consistent and mindful about what you send to your readers or followers, because it’s all a reflection of you.

Even these three small, subtle changes can have a big impact on how readers perceive you, and how successful your book sales will be! Find more information on our infographic below.

I’m not saying you should delete your author platform and start from scratch- in fact, don’t! Implementing these tips gradually is perfect. Nothing happens overnight, so be prepared to make some simple changes and eventually you will see results.

Let me know if these tips helped or if you have any other author platform tips of your own. I’d love to hear more about them down in the comment section!
