It’s time for our October observances post that features reader and book-centric themes and ideas totally focused on content marketing for authors!

We know it can get tedious coming up with new blog post ideas, social content, newsletter items, special promos, the list goes on.

So if you’re nodding your head, we encourage you to use our monthly observances as a guide for inspiration.

Of course October is the spooky month, the month horror authors wait for all year!

But our ideas go beyond that to ensure all of you have something interesting to say or a new angle for self-promotion.

As always, your posts should encourage your fans and followers to respond, chime in, share their feedback, insight, stories, etc. Don’t forget to work that angle: let them know you want to hear from them!

Your goal is to encourage engagement – never post flat content, be creative with how you pull others into the conversation, and offer ways for them to engage easily.

You can do polls, giveaways, fan art contests, or anything else as well!

This is an opportunity to get creative when a lot of content marketing ideas for authors can get really dull and repetitive.

Just remember to make it about your readers – not about you – and you’re guaranteed to see better engagement.
