With all the talk about keywords and finding great ones to use, have you ever considered finding them on Amazon.com? More specifically, in the review section of similar books. Reading reviews across several books and digging through their review section may unearth keywords you hadn’t considered.
In order to determine what’s valid and what isn’t, look for patterns and repeated phrases across multiple reviews. What issues do these reviews address and what, if any, do the reviewers feel the book is lacking.
Reading reviews will show you a good deal about what your audience wants, what they are needing to be successful and/or entertained, and what they’d like to see more of. It’s a great way to find keywords you may not have considered but also, it could be a great opportunity to generate some new ideas for your book description, too!
