Linking within your blog:

If you’re hyperlinking to an article, web site, or another blog post within your blog post use descriptive text to “anchor” the link in your post. Using descriptive text (and even keywords) is a great way to enhance the search engine ranking of your blog!

The importance of headings

Headings on your blog post are crucial. They must be description and benefit driven. Often the post titles should tell the entire blog story and often, it can make or break a visitor’s willingness to read.

Paragraphs

Don’t use long, seemingly never-ending paragraphs. Break them up into readable chunks that are easy to scan.

About you

Did you know that the “About” page on your blog is one of the most read areas? Figuring out exactly what you should put there isn’t always easy but here are a few things to consider:

What makes you an expert?

Why are you blogging and what topics will you cover?

What’s the benefit to the reader?

Give some thought to enhancing and engaging your reader in your About page. It might make the difference between a regular reader or a casual observer.
