Newspapers obsolete? Possibly.

The results are in: People read more online. A new study by the Poynter Institute cited a higher consumption of news content online vs. off – readers who read online consume about 77% of the content vs. offline (print newspaper) readers who read only 62%. Studies prior to this one have shown that readers scan online, which I believe they do, when it comes to new pieces and informational reading the Net exceeds any print medium by over 10%.

If you’re still looking for a reason to launch an online promotional campaign, this might be it. And furhter to that point, could newspapers be obsolete in a few years? Quite possibly.
