Angela Hoy has become the main champion of small and self-publishers who rely heavily on digital printing, whether through one of the innumerable "POD publishers" or directly with printers like Lightning Source.

I have been underwhelmed by the meek responses from both SPAN and IBPA/PMA. Although both issued indignant releases (SPAN's was far more firm in tone), neither have really taken the reins to lead a full-scale charge.

I have been blogging about it since this first hit the 'Net earlier this year. Every time I post an entry on the topic, my traffic soars. I imagine most other writing and publishing blogs are seeing the same trend. People are interested and concerned, but few really know how to make a difference.

As an interesting side note, I also link my blog to my Amazon Connect account. So far, all of my Amazon rants have been included, meaning they all show up on my books' Amazon pages. I keep wondering when they'll put a stop to that.

At our company, <a href="http://slipdownmountain.com" rel="nofollow">Slipdown Mountain Publications</a>, we are currently taking a wait-and-see approach. Amazon's actions have yet to directly affect us, but we are developing our plans for post-Amazon marketing and promotion. I'm not ready to make a knee-jerk response that will kill off our Amazon sales.
