The New York Times did an interesting piece on publishing, though I’m not sure I agree with it the author does point out an interesting fact. The merger of bigger publishers signals a change. At some point, will there be any little guys left?
Where do you think publishing is going?

It reminds me of when independent music became an issue for the record companies. (Aging myself) The record industry scoffed at the indies, but the indies did very well. The music companies adapted, though, and they learned to embrace the changes- instead of push the elbows out even farther. I’m not sure the publishing industry will get on board. The last two books I read (Harper Collins and Penguin) both had serious typos, which makes me wonder why the big guns in Publishing aren’t trying harder.
