Renowned poet Charles Bukowski’s local bookstore was beneficiary to more than his regular presence; unbeknownst to the staff, he signed copies of his books on the shelves (talk about extra value for customers!). Now read the story of this 99-year-old bookstore here, an inspiration at a time when so many other bookstores are closing their doors.

    Paula,

What an inspirational story! Congratulations, to the book store staff for developing friendships with their customers and authors.

This is what a book store should be like. I will visit them when I am in the area. I just love the mysterious adventure of finding the perfect book. I guess this is what happens, when you read so many Nancy Drew books. LOL!

Cheers to the 99-year old book store!!

    Julie,

I completely agree with you – this is how the independent stores can compete with big box stores, with ambience and stellar customer service. Thanks for reading!
