This scares me because Amazon is the biggest and will remain so. It would take tens of thousands of “transfers” to B&N to change that fact. Like Microsoft, they can do whatever they want and maintain most of the market share.

Now, I have no idea where I’m going to publish my upcoming book. I also don’t like the idea of them taking so big of a cut from each sale.

As a POD author, this whole thing is very

disturbing! Please keep me posted on what

I am an author who has books out from traditional publishers and one strong seller that’s POD. In the space of a week I’ve gone from being an adamant Amazon fan to despising the company. Multiply me times a few thousand and was this move really worth it just to give the Booksurge division more business? Does Amazon really want to be perceived in the same way as Microsoft?

I have my finger on the trigger for pulling down all my Amazon links across seven websites I run, including one narrative travel site where all the articles are from published book authors. As of now my “buy” button is still up for my one POD book. When it goes down, so do hundreds of incoming links to Amazon, which will then switch over to B&N.

Idiots.
